Dark Pure Tablea From Comval Enters China, Japan Less Than 1 Year From Inauguration: MUST READ

By Cha Monforte

There’s a local firm in Compostela Valley producing dark pure tablea (cacao tablets) and cacao nibs. It’s the pureness of these tableas and nibs out from cacao trees grown up in cool highland Maragusan town that catches the attention of foreign buyers.

When a cacao tablet is naturally pure, it has more fiber, phytonutrients and antioxidants that our body needs, good against blood pressure, lipids and inflammation. To have these health benefits, cacao tableas and nibs have got to be dark pure, just what the Comval Tropical Harvest Co., Inc. is producing with zest.

The company, owned by locals, started producing these two products in July 2016, but in less than a year it is already supplying 2 tons of dark pure tableas per month each for its China and Japan markets. The beautifully packed products of the company have been also positioned in various pasalubong centers.

The firm first ventured in planting cacao trees in 50 hectares of land in Maragusan. That became its first production base, though it has already planted cacaos in a total of around 90 hectares. Its vision is to plant cacaos in 300 hectares, said Julius Macarine, a marketing personnel of the firm during the recent 2nd Halal Trade and Tourism Expo in Davao City at Abreeza Mall where Comval Tropical Harvest Co., Inc. was one of the exhibitors.

The company’s tablea- and nibs-making plant is located downhill at Barangay Antiquera in Nabunturan, the capital town of the province. It started grinding since July last year the dried cacao seeds from its own farm and those procured from individual small cacao planters. The firm actually started in the business of buying and selling dried cacao seeds in 2014, while it was growing UF18 and W10 cacao trees.

The company’s farm, just a ride from Maragusan poblacion, is one natural ecotourism inland resort with training center and cozy resort houses.

“We take pride of our cacao products, tableas and nibs in raw or commercial packages. We are looking for more allies, buyers who can do business and of course profit from our 100-percent dark pure tableas and nibs. Our continuous supply is guaranteed,” said Rogelyn Dicon, sales and marketing executive of Comval Tropical Harvest Co., Inc. (mindanaosunchronicle.com/Cha Monforte)
