Island Garden City of Samal Councilor Jan Albert Ortiz has bared that there is a new offer from a landowner to sell 2.9 hectares of 4.6 hectares of land located in Miranda area and going Cogon in Babak district for the new market planned to be constructed by Mayor Al David Uy.
“The offered selling price is P906 per square meter, and with that price, the city government can easily find more than P20 million for its acquisition,” said Ortiz, who is the chairman of the Sangguniang Panglungsod’s economic enterprise committee.
He said the price of the property is lower than the last price set to the property in Villarica area that was first offered by a seller family having many members to decide.
Due to having many members, the price of property in Villarica started in P700 per square meter. But later it ended up in P1,500 per square meter.
Besides, the first offer has a narrow opening of only 68 meters.
The latest offer has only two persons, spouses, to decide and has a wider opening of 10 meters.
Ortiz committee would still study and probe on the new offer. (mindanaosunchronicle.com/Cha Monforte)
